I was born in New Brunswick and after I finished grade three, my mom and I moved to Ontario. I grew up in the small town of Haliburton, Ontario, Canada. I was raised by my mom who was a single parent before it was the norm. My mom worked for many years in a veneer plant where the work was hard, dirty and not fit for a woman but she taught me that hard work was what you did in order to survive.
I quit high school half way through my final year. All that stands between me and my diploma is an arts credit – funny, I never considered myself creative way back
then. After I quit high school, driven by sheer determination to support myself, I became a self-taught sales guru. I worked my way up the Corporate ladder from retail sales associate to a senior leadership role with TELUS where I supported a retail team, coast to coast here in Canada, and was responsible for about 100M in sales. (For any TELUS Corporate Stores people reading this, I owe everything to that job, it taught me more than I can describe and the people I worked with were incredible)
In 2006 the glass ceiling was apparent, and my entrepreneurial spirit was itching to take over. I decided it was time to put my knowledge and experience to work for myself and with the support of my husband I opened Parlez Wireless and soon after when I realized I had much more to offer, I expanded my business to include Lisa Larter Consulting. In 2012 I partnered with eWomenNetwork to create eWomenSocial Advantage and I operate this division as their Chief Social Officer.
In short – I help entrepreneurs, authors, small businesses and corporations build relationships with their customers through social media so they can drive traffic and increase sales. Often, I am the strategist who helps them figure it all out.
I guess you could say I am a serial entrepreneur with hard-hitting impact. I am known for my no-nonsense approach to helping business owners and executives drive results through solid strategic planning, social media, and customer experiences.
I coach clients to maximize sales and grow their business using social media, relationships, systems and technology. By utilizing best practices, my clients master how to immediately implement a plan to maximize their brand, increase sales and exponentially grow the platform from which their business operates.
I have worked with many exciting entrepreneurs all over the world. I’ve worked wtih best selling authors such as Deepak Chopra, Arielle Ford and Peggy McColl and organizations such as eWomenNetwork, Flowers Canada Retail, 20 Vic Management, Hasmark Services and TELUS. My success lies in the ability to break complex ideas into simple steps that are easily executed for success.
In addition to working with great organizations I have had the privilege to speak on stages at conferences with people I used to dream of meeting. Some of the people I have had the pleasure to do this with are: Lisa Nichols, Harvey Mackay, Brendon Burchard, Lisa Sasevich, Christine Kane, Mike Koenigs, John Gray, Fabienne Fredrickson, Janet Bray Attwood, Marcia Wieder, Ken Kragen, Lisa Cherney and of course, Kym and Sandra Yancey who have made much of this possible. A highlight of my career was meeting Oprah after hosting the Live Your Best Day Conference in Ottawa Canada.
