Your mindset influences the results you get in all areas of your life (relationships, career, body etc.). The Holiday Season is fast approaching and I want to empower you to change your thoughts around your body, eating and partying, so you can ENJOY this amazing time of year, and end up in January at the same weight (or possibly less!). Try these Four Simple Keys:
1. Pay Attention To Your Thoughts
Approach the Holiday Season with the absolute belief that you can enjoy this time with family and friends AND maintain your weight. Sounds easy, but my guess is you are probably thinking, “I always gain weight this time of year” or “I’m just going to get through this holiday season, and I’ll worry about trying to take the weight off after New Year’s.” Change your thoughts and you can change your outcome. Try thinking, “I’ve decided to enjoy this time with family and friends, and I look forward to maintaining my weight”. Now, words are important here. Notice how I didn’t write “I WILL enjoy this time” or “I WILL maintain my weight”. These words might cause some hesitancy or doubt. However, saying “I’ve decided to”, or “I look forward to” softens the approach, makes you feel better about the assertion, and increases the attraction power!
2. Be Happy For That Thin Person Enjoying Her Holiday Treats!
Have you ever looked at someone slim eating something you wish you were eating and thought, “I can’t believe she is eating all that and is still thin! It’s not fair!”? Try thinking, “Ah, there is someone who is eating and enjoying her treats. How great is that!”
You cannot feel jealous of someone else’s ability to maintain a healthy, happy body, and attract that body yourself. The Universe will provide to you the essence of your thoughts – so be happy for them!
3. Get Feeling Good Before You Attend The Party
Have a little something to eat before you go, and then think about how you want the party to unfold. Think about making healthy food choices from the buffet table, perhaps enjoying a treat, and joyously interacting with your friends and family. You’re going to have a wonderful time! If you pre-set your thoughts before you enter (do this as you drive there), the Universe will unfold circumstances and events to make eating at the party easier for you.
4. Be grateful for your food
Take a moment before you eat and say a quiet thank you. When you are in a state of gratitude you’re ability to attract a healthy, happy body is heightened.
