A boy who was not predicted to live —but he does, and he does so with a bright smile and an open heart.
He is eager to watch movies, play on the computer, go out with friends and be in school. He has an active life—when he can.
And he has all of this thanks to one person. One woman who demonstrated an incredible amount of care for his life and made a conscious decision to love and care for him unconditionally—even when she was told they did not expect him to make it.
This “Wonder Kid” would not have the life he has today if it weren’t for his “Wonderful” foster mom, Kim.
Living with a life-threatening illness means you live one moment at a time – parent and child. This child has lived with oxygen 24/7. This foster mom has given and supported his desire to live 24/7.
Kevin’s second home is the hospital and it is there he has survived hundreds of visits and procedures, thousands of injections and—well, you get the picture. If not for these visits and the outstanding care he receives there he wouldn’t be with us today.
