Shop Talk – National Retailers and Brands Must Think Local

Recently I was out visiting a client at their Shopping Centre and when the Marketing Director and I did our “Mall Walk” I was astonished at some of the feedback she gave me about the National Retailers.

They don’t get it.

They are failing to see the local opportunity that is right in from of them.  Are you missing this too?

What a great point! I worked for national retailers when I was in high school and college and there was a lot of control from the top and not much control given at all to the people on the ground. I bet the results would be great if some of the marketing was allowed to be more locally focused/social media focused. National retailers have a lot to learn from you, Lisa.

This is very true I work in retail and my company have realized the importance of communicating with local businesses and the shop center and finding out what local opportunities there are.
